Rick Bell is pursuing a seat on the Richardson City Council, augmenting current levels of continuity, collaboration, and commitment amongst the ranks of Richardson's leadership.
A decades-long resident of Richardson, Rick offers practical leadership, responsible decision-making, and a strong commitment to the people and communities of which he is a part. He views Public Service as most effective when anchored in objective listening, consensus problem solving, and delivering outcomes that matter to residents. To the service of this great community, he will leverage a combination of executive leadership, strategic planning, and community service that would benefit both the City Council and the City of Richardson. Throughout his career, Rick has led complex business initiatives, built individual & group alignment among diverse stakeholders, managed long-term planning efforts, and helped Fortune & Globally ranked companies navigate significant change. Those experiences have strengthened his ability to analyze issues, evaluate competing priorities, ask thoughtful questions, and make informed decisions & recommendations. In parallel, Rick has organized & participated in community outreach, both locally & across the region, & thus understands the challenges facing local families, businesses, and communities. Rick is focused on common-sense priorities, open communication, and leadership that puts people before politics.

Richardson residents deserve steadfast, balanced, unwavering leadership. They expect leaders that listen, work hard, and stay focused on the real priorities set forth by it's residents. Rick Bell is eager to embrace the opportunity. He has traveled Richardson's streets for decades, and seen residents, leaders, and businesses come and go. One constant of which there are many, is that Richardson remains loaded with opportunity.
Rick views Public Office as a responsibility, not a title, nor a stepping stone. It requires sound judgment, trust, and a willingness to serve. Rick's commitment is about connecting people, addressing local challenges, and making decisions that reflect the needs of residents.
When elected, Rick will focus on:
- Refining the necessary knowledge, skills, & understanding of the responsibilities during the initial period in office.
- Continued listening to residents and earning public trust.
- Out-of-the-box strategies for Economic Development & new Revenue Streams.
- Supporting responsible budgets & fiscal accountability.
- Safety: Public Safety, "Social" Safety, Protecting Richardson's Quality of Life.
